After years of proactively pursuing businesses and infrastructure investments , Georgia is seeing its efforts bear fruit .
Last year , CNBC ranked the state No . 4 overall — and No . 1 for infrastructure — on its America ’ s Top States for Business list . Analysis by LinkedIn ’ s Economic Graph team identified greater Atlanta as the leading US metro area , in terms of recent entrepreneurial growth . CNBC
noted the ranking was supported by Atlanta ’ s 92 % expansion in people founding their own companies , the fastest year-over-year growth .
Chris Clark , president and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce , said the state has always had a reputation for supporting jobs , businesses and economic development .
“ We have a very aggressive public-private partnership for
economic development where our utilities , our bankers [ and ] our chambers all work together , and I think that resonates with site selectors [ and ] with corporate executives ,” he said .
The expansion is particularly evident in Georgia ’ s trade and logistics sector . Approximately 85 % of the world ’ s top third-party logistics providers operate in the state , and its 67 cold chain facilities boast a total
