On Gateway
The Journal of Commerce is pleased to expand its partnership with Gnosis Freight to include intermodal rail transit and terminal dwell time metrics. The expanded partnership also includes the launch of a jointly created drayage price index. Journal of Commerce Gold subscribers can now track transits by Class I railroads from ports along the West and East coasts to points inland, and monitor container dwell times at facilities in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and Memphis on Gateway.
Gateway is an online shipping dashboard of more than 140 continuously updated charts from S & P Global and identified external data sources organized by trade lane, mode and topic. https:// www. joc. com / gateway
DAT US truckload spot rates
Weekly spot truckload rates per mile excluding fuel surcharges. The DAT Freight and Analytics average US truckload spot rate was $ 2.23 per mile in the week of Aug. 15, 2026, down from a four-year high of $ 2.47 per mile in the week of July 11, but up from $ 1.60 per mile in the same week last year.

Xeneta Asia to US West Coast short and long-term rates
Xeneta aggregates freight rates for both short-term contracts valid for less than 32 days, and long-term contracts valid for 87 days or more. Terminal handling charges are excluded. The Aug. 20, 2026, average spot rate from Asia to the US West Coast was $ 6,592 per FEU, up 2.3 % from the previous week. Pricing in long-term contracts signed in the last three months slipped 1.7 % to $ 2,178 per FEU, while overall long-term contract rates ticked up 0.1 % to $ 2,023 per FEU.
