Data center construction demand and tighter capacity due to enhanced driver regulations have sent flatbed trucking rates soaring. Average flatbed costs have jumped 25.6 % since the beginning of the year to nearly $ 3 per mile, according to DAT Freight & Analytics. Some shippers are attempting to offset rising flatbed rates by shifting freight to dry-van equipment, where possible, but they’ ll find higher prices in the truckload sector, as well. Average dryvan rates reached $ 2.39 per mile in the week ending June 20, up 24 % from Jan. 1, according to DAT.

Xeneta Asia to US West Coast short and long-term rates
Xeneta aggregates freight rates for both short-term contracts valid for less than 32 days, and long-term contracts valid for 87 days or more. Terminal Handling Charges( THCs) are excluded. The June 18, 2026, average spot rate from Asia to the US West Coast was $ 4,869 per FEU, up 32.6 % from the previous week. Pricing in long-term contracts signed in the last three months grew 3.1 % to $ 1,780 per FEU, while overall long-term contract rates ticked up 2 % to $ 1,780 per FEU.
