Cosco Shipping Lines’ AI-powered trucking quotation systems match cargo with optimal routes instantly, reducing transit delays and administrative friction. The business also offers customized supply chain control towers that provide“ real-time shipment visibility, predictive analytics and automated exception management,” Houghtalin noted.
Tools that simplify decision-making and reduce uncertainty are also embraced along the length of Asia – US supply chains. Across its warehousing network, Cosco Shipping Lines uses advanced warehouse management systems, IoT-enabled sensors and predictive data analytics to optimize inventory and equipment utilization. Another defining measure of competitiveness in global trade and logistics is sustainability. On the water, Cosco Shipping Lines uses digital voyage planning and vessel speed optimization to protect marine habitats.
“ Through the‘ Protecting Blue Whales and Blue Skies’ program, the business has achieved an exceptional compliance rate above 90 % in designated zones in 2025, earning the program’ s Sapphire Award,” Houghtalin said.
Cosco Shipping Lines is making major investments in green vessels, including“ 42 methanol dual-fuel container vessels [ nearly 780,000 TEUs of capacity ] and 28 LNG [ liquefied natural gas ] dual-fuel container vessels,” Houghtalin added. Several of these vessels are already serving trans-Pacific routes. The company also participates in the Shanghai-Los Angeles-Long Beach Green Shipping Corridor to accelerate green fuel adoption.
On land, Cosco Shipping prioritizes zero- and near-zero-emission trucking operators and has reduced inland transport greenhouse gas emissions by 4.9 % year over year.
“ Shore power utilization reached 100 % compliance in Oakland and 96.3 % across all major North American ports in 2025,” Houghtalin said.
In addition, the company’ s terminal electrification continues with hybrid rubbertire gantry cranes, Tier 4 top handlers and battery-electric terminal trucks.
