MPV charter rates , as measured by the Toepfer Multipurpose Index ( TMI ), arheading steadily toward $ 13,000 per day as container cargoes “ spill over ” into breakbulk ships .

US truckload spot rate hits year-to-date high
Weekly spot truckload rates per mile excluding fuel surcharges . Average truckload spot rates have been climbing steadily since May , reaching $ 1.69 per mile in the week of July 6 , 2024 , a 0.8 % increase from the previous week and a 1.2 % increase from the same period last year .

Xeneta Asia to US West Coast short and long-term rates
Xeneta aggregates freight rates for both short-term contracts valid for less than 32 days , and long-term contract that are valid for 87 days or more . Terminal Handling Charges ( or THCs ) are excluded .
The July 17 , 2024 average spot rate from Asia to the US West Coast was $ 7,424 per FEU , up 0.9 % from the previous week . Rates in long-term contracts signed within the last three months rose 2.2 % week over week to $ 1,665 per FEU , while overall long-term contract pricing ticked up 1.8 % to $ 1,645 per FEU .
