US truckload spot rate upward pressure in last two weeks
Weekly spot truckload rates per mile excluding fuel surcharges . DAT Freight and Analytics data shows contracted freight rates for dry van transportation have been on a downward trend since early 2024 . There have been positive signs in the spot market over the last few weeks , with dry van spot rates reaching $ 1.63 per mile as of June 8 . However , rates are still down 2.4 % compared to the same period last year .

Xeneta Asia to US West Coast short and long-term rates
Xeneta aggregates freight rates for both short-term contracts valid for less than 32 days , and long-term contracts valid for 87 days or more . Terminal Handling Charges ( THCs ) are excluded .
The June 13 , 2024 , average spot rate from Asia to the US West Coast was $ 5,417 per FEU , up 1.7 % from the previous week . Pricing on long-term contracts signed within the last three months rose 0.7 % from the previous week to $ 1,461 per FEU , while overall long-term contract rates inched up 0.7 % to $ 1,452 per FEU .
