The Pacific Northwest ( PNW ) is an emerging global trade center serving the trans-Pacific corridor , with bustling ports in Seattle and Tacoma in Washington state . electronics — reach worldwide markets .
“ Washington ’ s business environment is notably robust and fosters innovation ,” said Tong Zhu , chief commercial and strategy officer at The Northwest Seaport Alliance ( NWSA ), a marine cargo operating partnership of the Port of Seattle and Port of Tacoma .

Under a port development authority , NWSA manages the container , breakbulk , auto and bulk terminals .
“ This state is home to many globally recognized companies , including Amazon , Microsoft , Starbucks , Costco , SanMar , REI and Expedia , and attracts diverse companies ,” Zhu added .
